* Your Genetec ID badge is required to check-in to the event. Your ElevateDev'22 badge must be worn at all times during the Hackathon.
This year, the Hackathon will be open-themed, meaning that teams can choose any project relevant to Genetec business. For example, a project can concern a new potential product, an improvement on existing offerings, or even a tool to improve our processes. Winning projects will be those that are likely to be implemented into the business. Teams are encouraged work within their own expertise where their experience and know-how will give them the greatest advantage in identifying and solving problems. Members from our Sales and UX teams will also be on-hand to lend their support as well.
Food, rest areas, and showers
Because the Hackathon will run overnight and well into the following day, participants will have access to plenty of food and drinks (including a barista), rest areas with camping beds, and showers. Feel free to bring your teddy bear, comfy slippers, favorite pillow, and of course your great ideas.
Hardware and software provided
General rules
At the end of the competition, each team will need to prepare a presentation for their booth at the Innovation Fair on Monday. At least two team members will be required to present their project to the judges in the morning, and to attendees in the afternoon.
Three prizes will be awarded: one chosen by the judges, one by your peers, and one by Pierre Racz.
The winners will be announced at the ElevateDev’22 Party on Wednesday, September 14th.
Hotel rooms are reserved for our international participants who cannot return home between the Hackathon and the main ElevateDev'22 event.
Quebec City and Sherbrooke-based employees should not request hotel rooms for the Hackathon as we'll have shuttle busses to bring you to Montreal on September 8th and to take you back home on September 9th. Not to worry though! A rest area will be set up for all participants during the Hackathon for anyone who wants to take a break.
